I was looking at a V reg VTR for my girl tonight, the car was immaculate and drove well the only problem was the idle temperature it was idleing about
5mm above the half way mark and rose slightly when driving then dropped back down again, can anyone tell me if this is normal for a VTR??
Do they usually run slightly hot??

They are usually mid or a bit over mid on the Temp. gauge so it's normal no worries. Normally goes down rapidly once you start to move.

Yeah the fan kicks in no problem was just a bit concerned at the idle temp.
I have a 1.8 GTI T and thst never budges of half way.
The wee VTR is mint and feels good to drive, think al buy her as long as there is no risk re cylinder head etc.
Anybody else have any comments re idle temp??
