Youll find it hard to find one now mate theyre getting very hot on the 'fronting' so i hear. If you say your mums got a furio with loads of mods to it, and oh yeah shes got a 18 yr old second driver then stright away theyre gonna be saying no.

there starting to stop that sort of policy thing now so all new drivers will eventually have there own policy instead of being fronted.
try http://www.quinndirect.com there cheap but cant mod i dont think.
and think yourself lucky you dont have my policy, iv been driving the vts since i was 18!!

I know so many people who started off on their parents polices and are still on them to this day... As soon as or IF they start their own, it's going to really hit them hard. I took out my own policy when I started driving as my parents would have never let me on theirs. Yes, it was quite expensive but I had no other choice.

There are sooo many companies out there nowadays. You're more likely to get a cheaper quote with a broker but... always read the small print. Premiums could be a lot cheaper but the excess might be three times more.

Have you tried Adrian Flux?

nope i havnt tryed anywhere wot is that insurants company that allows u to do mods but you cant make the car go faster????( ie ad exhurst mod or stuff like that)

If you modify your car... it will appeal "more" to thieves so your premium will be higher. It's not all to do with how much faster your car will be.

Get quote online, they cant refuse you then for fronting. Asda do mine, i have a saxo furio, 19 years old, mum is 40 with zero no claims, i pay £850 per year fully comp

best looking on line or in some of the car mags on sale, may find that they will give you a good quote. it may also be a good idea to leave modding your car and get some no claims built up, then go for a vtr/s.

The majority are brokers... Can also be a bad thing.

orite i got quoted with directline under my moms name for £750 but it is the same price as this year im paying so im not getting it any cheaper and with directline if im a named driver i still get no claims but i no the no claims are only valid with tht company but the problem with directline is they do let u have mods.

i dont care bout insuring them i jsut wana company that will replace them with standard items if i crash becasue if i dont tell a company then its voids my insurants but if i tell them then it wont but even if when i have a crash they replace the alloys with steelies and the bodykit (if i was to get one) with standard bumpers then that will be fine with me

if you no wot i mean

does any insurants companys do that?

so basiclly tell them about the mods but not insure the mods!!

Right...

I used to be with Direct Line when I first started driving. As soon as I modfified my car (a Saxo), they cancelled the policy because in the small print, it said... if you're under 21, you cannot modify your car, etc... So I kind of blew that one!!!

With regards to modifications... whatever you have (big or small), you are to notify your insurance company. It's then up to them whether or not that modification affects your premium. Some modifications are classed as cosmetic but others can be classed as performance enhancing, etc... They decide what's what, not you. If you do not notify your insurance company about the modifications, then they have every right to void your policy and not pay out as a result of an accident.

99% of insurance companies now adopt the "modified for standard" approach. This means that even if you are covered for your modifications (i.e. you've told them), if you're involved in an accident, they will only put the car back to standard and will not replace modifications like-for-like. This should be noted in your policy document. If you're not sure, give your insurance company a call. I know that is what Elephant do.

If however you would like your modifications replaced like for like, then you are to approach a more specialist company who will do just that. However, these companies will be a lot more expensive than your bog standard companies (i.e. Elephant, Tesco's, Direct Line, etc...).

Does that help?
