do you have a modem plugged into the phone lines and a wireless router as well (which may be part of the same thing) and your coputer connects wirelessly to that?
to share a folder, right click on it, properties, sharing tab, tick 'share this folder'. something like that.

Lots of incorrect advise been given already ;) lol
Right click the folder. Properties > Sharing > Share this folder on this network. Then enter a share name Example....Documents$
then if your machine are both connected to the same workgroup (doubt it will be domain) go onto the other machine where the folder arnt and do this...
Start > Run > \\ipaddress\sharename
Ipaddress - here enter the Ip of the machine that the documents are on.
Sharename - here enter the name that you enetered for the share name on the other machine..
Example...
\\192.168.0.2\documents$

his connection will already be enabled if he has internet. Thats just to enable the network card on the machine. Nothing to do with file sharing.

Yer thats right. You need to setup a wireless internet. Look for the wirless internet symbol by your clock, right click it and select 'View Available wirless networks'. If you havent set one up try going into control panel and there should be an icon saying 'Wireless network setup wizard'. Once you have done this on one machine you need to do it on the second machine (Both the wirless network names have to be the same on both machines obviously).
You may need to set both wirless cards to 'Ad Hoc' mode. You can do this by calling up the Properties of the wirless adapter, going to the wirless network tab, selecting advanced and clicking the option for 'Computer to Computer ( Ad Hoc networks only). Try doing a google search for 'Ad Hoc Wirless networks'.
Hope this helps

Im a bit confused here. How do you access the internet, is it via a usb modem or a router?. If its a USB modem you need to setup the Ac Hoc wireless internet as described above. If you have a wirless router you just need to tell machine which folders/files you want to share. You can do this by right clicking them going to the sharing tab and selecting the option to share them. You dont need to worry about IP addresses ect if you have a working wirless router becuase your router will have assigned one to your machine already.

once you know both on the same group you could map it as a network drive.
open my computer.
tools>map network drive
Select a drive letter (any it odesnt matter)
The for the folder type it for the example of before...
\\192.168.0.2\documents$
then that will show the folder of the other machine as a network drive under my computer ;)

Cheers. Wirless networks are a nightmare mate. We have one and it goes down every week. Im a computer engineer for Kent County Council and wirless networks drive me insain. I use Google most of the time to find the info i need. Im working on a website right now which shows the solutions for almost every PC problem you can think of. Will take another year or so to complete bcuase i do it in my free time. Will let ppl know when its done.

easiest thing to do is to set up 2 hotmail accounts (emails) then open messenger on both comps and create a share file through messenger then you can access all files in the folder from both comps easy as pie
