View Full Version : Not happy (car)...NOW WITH PICS #59

Well some of you may know I was down seeing Mike this weekend in Brighton and I went to see Louise after I got back.
I was in a pretty good mood to be fair - left Mikes house at 14.20 and arrived at Louises at 18.23 - plus I stopped for five minutes so I thought I done good. Sat in her house, watching TV and I hear a MASSIVE bang, but I didn't wanna go out because there is gangs of chavs that hang around, so I checked but it was all quiet. I went out to the car at 9.30 to come home and I found 4 BIG cracks going up my windscreen - the Tw@ts have thrown a stone, causing 20 little cracks and 4 big ones going up my windscreen and smashed a bit of my wiper.
I reckon it would be some of our chavs mates, just annoys me how jealous some people are. Think I'll need to wash my mouth out with soap and water after all the swearing I have done.
Rant over.

Funnily enough, the police came down not long after but I didn't know this had been done to the car, so I didn't say anything but to be honest what would they do? They are pretty useless.
why insurance mate?
As I am Fully Comp insurance, I can pay £50 excess and get the windscreen replaced and it won't affect my NCB.
willsy
7th January 2007, 23:02
You'll need to report it to the police to get a crime number for it which insurance needs to be able to claim off. Nothing they can do though unless theres any CCTV footage from anywhere. No forensic tests can be done if it was a stone thrown.
Really is a shame and it sucks that this kind of thing happens, the tits that do it should be put down, the world wouldnt miss them

got a weird story my boss told me. he locked something important in his car that he needed cant remeber what and the aa said they will be 2-3 hours. So he got a baseball bat and was trying to smash one of the windows. considering hes a big guy he was really going at it and he couldnt do it. it just wouldnt smash.
Some chavy kid walked past and offered his services. he got a tiny stone of the road lobbed it at the window and the whole thing smashed

its also good to have a crime reference for insurance purposes. The police may know of a gang around that are known for such incidents. Worth a try... you have nothing to loose.
also if the police were round earlier, they may have seen a group of kids hanging around

I'm gonna scratch the C***'S who scratched my cars eye's out sooner or later cos i've been given names of a couple of little chavs through my younger cousins but it's finding them!

funny thing is when the first one happened i sent a letter to everyone down my street this was mid november and i got a reply yesterday morning saying i'm pretty much pathetic for suspecting my neighbours.
why the hell shouldn't i? i know who does and doesn't like me down my street. gods knows why when i keep myself to myself though
oh and when i find who's done it they better watch their precious little car if they have one because i'm out to do bigger and better

I know it's only a windscreen at the end of the day, but it just winds me up for the simple fact I hate anything been touched on my car and now I gotta go through the hassle of getting it fixed plus paying £50 excess.
I wish I had my alarm fitted already, I would of gone out with a baseball bat ready for them.

My cousin had this done to his Mint black EVO 7 in nottingham, had to have the whole car resprayed as they did every panel!

Typical thing is Ads, the alarm is being fitted next week - again another annoying thing.
I can't see any paintwork damage with the torch, no dints in bonnet either. I reckon I could be pretty lucky, but I'll give it once over tomorrow. To be honest, I'm going off the VTR now anyway, tempted for something else.

Yeah hopefully Boe, like I said I can't see anything with the torch and it will be dark when I leave for work in the morning, but I'll give it once over at lunch.

I mean look at the mosheads and goths and such, they never seem to do anything like that even though theyre the ones everyone dislikes. Anyone notice that? Plus what really pisses me off is that they get away with it. We cant go out and smash their faces in cause wed get in trouble yet the cops never find the person who did it! Should go back to corporal punishment thatd show em!

This is not a comparison mate but is what they can really do to fuck you off and a chav rant!
Imagine this: 20+ key scratches round the motor, Two the whole way the car, one shell deep 5ft down passenger side, 3 shell deep foot longs on same side front wing, 6 little very deep key's along the rubber on my drivers window, 4 around the fuel cap, and a few others.
The same socially inept type of bastards who done your windscreen have caused over a thousand pounds worth of damage to my car which i dont have the money to fix and wont for a few months at least!
When mine was done i was in a rough area, Corby, its the biggest nastiest council estate(town really) on the planet, but it was and still is home.
It doesnt matter where you live, they either dislike you or are jealous(90% of the time) and they are gonna do your car in cos they can, Its what they do best and they know they want it but cant have it!
They will carry on and carry on and the next thing to hit the news will be boy/CHAV/kid/person, whichever, killed, hurt, injured, attacked, whatever by man supposedly defending car!
We will get the blame whatever cos chavs are bad and we are badder! And the best bit, it's them that make us look bad in the first place when we do nothing wrong! they nick cars, drive fast etc etc and people auto think tha anyone with a fast(dont go there) car is a chav!
Excuse my rant but it needed to be said cos they piss me right off! :rage:
soz for the :hijack: and hope you get your motor sorted and catch the f**kers!

unlucky Luke, its only going to cost £50-£60 for a new windscreen but thats not the point. im starting to get the felling now that kids now a days are been brought up with no respect for other peoples property, let alone their own.
i was a little tyke when was younger but nothing like some of them that are aound now. they will have seen your car and thought yeah thats nice lets smash his windscreen. TWATS
if it had been me i would have been straight out no matter if there was a gang of them or not, they can't of been over 16 so their still kids really.

I have just spoken to the insurance company and they have confirmed it will NOT affect my NCB at all. Elephant use RAC AutoWindscreens, so I hope they are good are fitting it and they will phone me tomorrow morning to sort out place/time for me to have it fitted. I'll just have to pay the Fitter £50 for the Excess on the Policy - So glad I'm fully comprehensive as it would of cost about £300 for a new windscreen.
Also, just come off the phone to Louise and her Dad has found half a house brick on the drive where my car was, so someone has thrown it intentionally at my car but I'm so LUCKY that it didn't hit the bonnet as I would of majorly gutted.
Anyways, least it's sorted now.

RAC did mine luke and did a good job. i went to the police station about mine they gave me a crime number the insurance didnt even ask for it
Luke
8th January 2007, 18:32
Yeah, it was actually the RAC people who asked how it was done actually not the insurance.
I'm glad they have done a good job on yours Chelle, but any little mistake and I'll be straight onto them.

Kelly, the windscreen glass is laminated i.e. doesnt shatter.
Luke
8th January 2007, 20:38
Yeah true Kelly, I'll make sure it's fixed for Sunday at the meet.
I should be ok though for next couple of days, I'm only using it for work and back (6 miles a day) but I'll see what they say tomorrow when I get a phonecall.

Update..
Well they didn't ring me this morning as they said they would, so I phoned them after lunch and said it was urgent so I wanted it doing ASAP. Only problem is I had to take it to them because it was raining and the glue wouldn't set otherwise. Took them 2 hours and she is now proudly sat on my drive again and I feel much better knowing it's complete again.
Just had to pay the £50 and he assured me again he won't effect my NCB. On the worksheet he put my car was SILVER....erm no it's ICELANDIC GREY.

Keep an eye out for any leaks luke. Not suggesting that there might be, just after my experience I'm always cautious with people doing stuff to my car.

Job looked fine in the workshop when I picked it up, but it was dark so didn't manage a full inspection. I'll check it tomorrow lunchtime but it's guaranteed for 3 years anyway againist any uncalled for breakages and leaks.
Just need to put my tax back in car now, wherever it is.
