Hello everyone, right oh! My power steering started playing up a couple of weeks ago! What happened the 1st time, I started my engine and the PAS did not kick in until I started to move forward slightly? It did this every time I started my engine for a few days. Then the PAS stared to get worse, it wouldn’t kick in at all. A few days ago I went over a bump in the road a then I kick in again!!! When I turned off my engine and started it back up again, it wasn’t working and as not worked since. I am wondering if anyone as had the same problem and could give me some advice? Thanks

:panic: sorry for how long the story is.

right fella

basically your pump is on the way out, that early symptoms of it cutting in and out, next expect the relay to blow

best bet is to go to the breakers yard and get one off a newer saxo model

should fit

SSC is saxo sports club. A new or 2nd hand pump should sort your problems like said above.

the tips is tap the metal bit of the pump with a hammer!!!

i did 6 months ago and not a prob since you see sometimes the pump gets alittle crapped up so you start car tap pump and do that till the pump work alway agin it not the pump going just a little crapped up thats all!!!

i wouldn't be so sure of that. Ash's does the same and its often like this guys is. tapping it helps but it still comes back. would imagine it needs replacing!

mate i have never seen a 2000 W reg phase 1......

anyway, any pump will fit, on difference is that one has a remote oil
resevoir(sp?) and the other has the resevoir mounted on it

yeah think its a phase 1 W reg. its only got 120mph on the clock and my mate's got 140mph and is a X reg and feels like its got the extra 10bph!!

i could be wrong though mate.

for all you know mate, your relay might be blown and your bashing it with a hammer.

feel the grey relay, if its warm OR just get someone to flick the igniton and feel it click on so you know the relay is ok

hit the metal part as you can crack the plastic

i went mental hitting away but in the end the pump just fried up
