1.1 box has shorter ratios than a 1.4 but the final drive(5th) is sh*t on a 1.1 so top end will be reduced.

i just got a 1.1 box on my 1.4

also make sure u remove the speedo drive out of your vtr box otherwise you will get incorrect speedo readings as i am at the moment lol

the speedo drive is located near the diff and is held down by an L-key bolt and has a 3 pin plug for the socket

your best bet is to get a VTS box where it has short ratios and the final drive is good, you will get better top end by a few mph

hope this helps

Thanks mate, just wanted to know how long/short the gear ratios were in comparison to a 1/1 or S box. I understand 1.4 boxes have quite long drives. Shame, as I need a box ideally 1.1 or S or 106 rallye, but the furio box i found has only done 29000 miles!

your right fella! my 3rd on the 1.4 box goes on and on and on lol!

whereas i can climb hills in 3rd gear in the 1.1 box as all the gears are so close to each other, i approach junctions in 3rd most the time now lol

watch out for that box your saying which you think has covered 29000 miles, where you get it from? salvage yards chat sh*t, you dunno what box it is, or the miles it has covered
