OUCH-A-ROONIE!

Had meh half-life service (after only 4 years!) over xmas and it was a staggering £500! from Citroen in Godalming. Bit of a sucker for getting official services, but £500! oh meh crickey!

Luckily a bit of lonely heart talk and they bought in a deal from next month forward so it knocked £100 off.

It got worse though. Not only was the service a fortune, but they told me the rear tyres were worn beyond legal, all brake pads were shot, the rear brake discs were damaged (because of the pads issue!), and the heater blower motor needed replacing. Got a quote of something like £1200 (inc service) for the work. Talk about being gutted in guildford!

I asked them to sort the service, and I would worry about the rest. Hired a car the next day and arranged to have new pads and discs done at KwikFit Slough. Then shopped around for some cheapy tyres, and have left the heater until its more convenient.

Heads up though, 70K service is a painful one!

They shouldn't allow you to drive it away on illegal tyres.

Anyway, what is a halflife service? Mines done over 70k and just gets serviced every 5k

Depends if you have the time and the know how really.

Yep this was a cambelt service, they kept telling me that was the reason it was expensive.....

Cambelt will cost a few hundred itself.
