I do this everytime I renew my quote.
Do internet searches... more often then not you'll come out with a cheap (if not the cheapest quote).
Ring your intended insurer and as them for a quote. once the quote is given hum and arrhhh a bit and ask them if their is anything the company can do to better quote? 9 times out of 10 they'll lower the quote by £50 (something shit basically)
Then:
say you've found cheaper elsewhere. if they ask, You spoke to the rival company.
They may try and fob you off saying that their insurance offers 'instant curtsey car' and 'legal cover'.
Ignore them and say you've gathered the rival quote like for like.
Do not mention the rival insurer unless you absolutely have to. if you can say 'its a well known insurer, small insurer, specialist insurer etc.
Tell them you are serious about insuring with them, but were disappointed with the quote.
And if they can BEAT the rival quote... mention if they can, then they have a deal (obviously dont just jump in if it is a good deal).
If you get a decent quote... make them tell you what 'extras' they have taken out (if any), any (good) extras removed... make them up it back in unless they begin being assy.
Also I'd recommend that you aim to pay in one go. the insurers can usually lower their quote as a result and are far more flexible with haggling.
If they dont come up trumps move on to the next target.
ALSO: ignore any bullshit about 'if you dont take the offer now it wont come back...', tell them if they're gonna do that then they'll lose your business to a rival.
Once you get a company very keen on getting your dosh start playing pingpong with them. Get each campany to beat the other...
yada yada... there loads about this. but basically never accept the cheapest quote as being the cheapest. I honestly dont know why people dont haggle when it comes to this but hey ho.
Happy saving.

Well as an employee of More Than when you callback they will just give you their Features & Benefits of their insurance in comparison to the other companies that you have got quotes with.
Best of luck though.

lol my best quote is with more than, any tips on lowering the premium and does lowering increase it as they said they dont allow, top speed acceleration or performance mods.
think lowering comes under performance maybe?

I asked my manager as i dont work on Motor Sales however the lowering would come under as a performance modification, they prefer not to touch a modified car.
I think if it has had any modifications it will decline the quote.

Yea thats the problem for me, was going to get a staff saver quote so get a 20% discount, but they wont touch my car either.
There drivetime is a extremely cheap insurance as well but only allowing driving between certain hours and not after 11pm, its swings and roundabouts tbh.
