i've heard autoglass ads on the radio say they can fill chips with some kind of resin... apparently that can be done through your insurance as well.

Depending on the size of the chip/propogation of the crack, Autoglass/RAC Windscreens etc may be able to fill it. It also depends on the location - check out the Autoglass website. If you're fully comp then the windscreen will be filled for free (your insurer picks up the bill - no excess). If the chip is too large OR the crack has propogated outside the legal limits you'll need a new screen - again if you're fully comp then all you have to pay is the excess (normally £50); this will NOT affect your premium as is not classed as a 'claim'. If you're not fully comp you'll have to pay yourself for either method. Screen repair (i.e. resin fill is generally £35-£40 + vat).
Bear in mind that an unfilled chip/crack is an MOT failure and the longer you leave it the worse it'll get.
Hope this helps....

Loving that lmao ;)
call up some glass people, they will be able to tell you your options.
Autoglass are one that a colleague of mine used. They did a great job on his scooby.
Im sure there will be a few about were your from so just call them up, ask for a price etc.
Could you get one from a scrappy or ebay aswell?
