Never had one done but would say more like £300 plus. Adecent clutch is £100 and labour for a good 4-5 hours minimum. With a manual clutches are fairly easy, just time consuming with the amount of bits to take off. I would give myself 2 days. I do all my own work, give it a go with a manual. I'm doing mine next summer when its warmer, all ok now but the car has done 128,000 miles on an 02 plate

hello mate, its not too much off a job to do yourself
considering its a VTS you will probably spend atleast £100 on the clutch and £150-200 labour

a decent clutch costs £80 to £100, labour is at least 3-4 hours minimum so will cost at least £300, as they say, you get what you pay for, not a major job so I'd do it myself and you know the job was done properly. I don't trust garages to be honest, my 1.1 on an 02 has done 128,000 with no garage work at all and runs superb, change the oil every 6,000 miles, new filter and always use synthetic oil. Ail filter and plugs every 15,000, jobs a good un.
