i broke my hand a week ago and having an operation on it tomorrow,basicly i go to the gym regulary and i am fairly muscular(6,4"/14stone) and i dont wont to lose my muscle over the next 6 or 7 weeks whilst im recovering, is there anything i can take/do to stop this happening . thank you

id imagine your going to lose gains either way if you cant train, can you do any at all like some leg workouts etc? if it happend to me id probley just keep a strick diet and keep getting protein in me. im sure it will all come back then after a couple of weeks

as stated, you will lose some mass due to not being able to train. you could also see what the doctor can reccommend in terms of healing the bone quicker such as higher calcium intake, although dont quote me on that one but no harm in asking.

surel if your not training increased protein wont do much except add weight?

Not increase just keep having the same amount he has when training and the same diet, surely thats the best he can do ? i mean if you cant train you may as well keep eating right as thats the other half of it, i surpose the only other option is eat crap while not training which will make it worse, id just stick the same diet and then kill it in the gym as soon as i can.

just try do excersises that you can still do. as said like legs, calfs, situps maybe pec deck. there snot much you can do

i tore my ligaments in my ankle... worse thing u can do is let you down. i did and just sat on my arse for 2 months and felt sorry for myself.
lost my place in the team for that!!!
just do asuch as you can, go for a run.

you could evin do that static exersising. you know the ones you can do in the office. like when you sitting at a table, put ur hands under it and try and lift it allitle so our tensing up

do cardio work - cycling on a high resistance and include intervals for example, It depends on what equipment you have if you have rubber tubes like things with handles of you can do stuff with them simple leg exercises leg ext leg curl calf raises abs & lower back... d even say to you start pilates!! as this will strengthen you in places you never thought possible!!
