it seems such a ridiculous question

but how does the front light cover come off once you have removed the two retaining clips?

bit confused, if your replacing the bulb you do it from the rear of the unit, pull off the wire block connector, pull off the rubber seal, then there is a spring retaining clip holding the bulb in place, to loosen this you push on it at the top and move is to the right or left and it hinges down allowing you to pull the bulb out. Confused by you saying two clips?

Also, if you have a mirror that really helped me, its a bugger to see what you are doing so if you place a mirror in a strategic place you will be able to see whats holding it in :y:

no, i mean the cover in front of the bulbs, maybe you don't need to take this off at all if they can be replaced from the rear?

The bulb is replaced from the rear of the unit (engine side)... you don't need to remove the plastic lens...

on the back of the headlight you should see a grey rubber cap/seal... you need to pull out the wiring connector block from the seal... then remove the rubber seal... then you can see the bulb... the bulb is held in by a spring loaded clip... you need to push the retaining clip in and to the side... this then springs open and allows you to remove the bulb... you then reverse the process when fitting the new bulb...

Hope that helps
