Well some of you may know I got my CAT 1 Toad Alarm fitted yesterday and I rang up my insurance company today (Elephant) seeing if they would give me a discount on the policy (didn't think they would) but it's worth a try.

She told me that they are only bothered about the STANDARD fit security features so basically the Citroen Immobiliser is the only thing. I'm not overly bothered because I got the alarm fitted mainly for my own piece of my mind, but for ANY Elephant, Admiral and Bell Customers - be warned you won't get discount for having an alarm fitted.

That is all.

I think they would have given you a discount if it was fitted before the start of the policy because they do ask you that.

also you mention a CAT1 alarm, but does it feature an immobiliser built in? might be worthwile to tell them that,

they give you shit all off for an alarm in my experince anyway mate, premium went down 30 quid on the westy with the alarm declared its pathetic, especially when the chrage for an induction kit was 45 quid

I even asked them about a discount for when/if I renew the policy with them and it still stands as it is.

It's because they ONLY go on what the car has fitted as standard.

Does that mean they dont even give discounts for trackers? Doesnt make any sense proves the system they use is all about profit not how safe a driver or how secure your car is. Out of interest does anyone have a tracker fitted on here?

you were tempted with a tracker on your saxo?!?!

why

the only time ive known trackers making a difference is on high performance cars where the company insist on it before even thinkin about givin u a policy

Peice of mind, doesnt matter how fast it is if its your pride n joy so i was thinkin of getting one efore but the yearly subscriptions are overpriced.
