looked under the car today as i could hear a knocking noise. So looked under the car and all the underneath is covered in oil. All my lower strut brace, the 2 things that go to the wheel.(one either side) also my gear box seems to be covered. Can any one help? please

Must have a leak somewhere mate, your sump plug washer might have gone and your oil might be leaking from there? check your oil, if it need's topping up do that then see if it's leaking from the sump area. If it is give it an oil change and stick a new washer and bolt in.

id say sump plug, sump gasket actual sump is the first things to check, if not try to see were the oil is coming from

id be more helpfull if i knew more

well it could be lots of things

we need to find what type of oil it is

gearbox or engine

possibly both driveshaft gaitors have popped, would be consistent with the knocking noise to.

Either that or you have an engine oil leak and have ran the engine dry and its slowly seizing itself to death
