what you should do is get some new speakers if you want. But if you want the best sound from your 6by9s you need to amp them. Theres 2 ways of conecting them up - if you have back speakers you could take them out and hook up the 6 by 9s using the wires that ran to the old back speakers. or if you want to keep them shove an amp in the back and hook the 6 by 9s up to the amp. that made it clear? I suppose you could pm me if you need more help

a few good ideas there, if i got new components would i be able to amp up both them and the 6x9's through the front connections easily?

well if you got a four channel amp then yes you can mate, you would need two phono leads too
i would definately recommend components amped, if needs be 6x9s but id sell them and buy a sub, i have 2 12 inch subs and a set of components and its great, even with one sub its just as good :y:

or i could just just amp the components and leave the 6x9's as they are if you rekon that i should jack in the 6x9's

I don't think you can doubt though, for the cost, 6x9s are good. I got some Sony ones 3-way from argos for about 25 quid, and they're great. Sure, a sub with amp and components would be better, but it comes at a price. People dissing 6x9s don't seem to consider cost...

if your going to keep the 6x9s at least wire them correctly not bodge them.
I consider costs when dissing 6x9s. These vibe square pieces of crap are not cheap, smae with most 6x9s they dont come terribly cheap.

got my components for 90 and you sometimes pay that for 6x9s, you can get components for cheap you just have to know were to look

well RCA or Phonos, they basically send a signal from the headunit to the amp

oh right lol of course i have one of them for my amp/sub setup. so i suppose amping the components isnt that hard... you just wire the components to the amp in the boot and hook up the amp via some phonos. Is that right? hmmm so i suppose youd need another power cable but the battery isnt that good is it? so which would be better 1 big amp or 2 smaller ones? so you wouldnt use the original speaker wire then, youd put wires from the components to the amp right and the amp would send sound to it from the headunit... lol its 2am and im trying to get my mind round it.
