Ok I am going to build my own install and i am after a single sub that will give a good bass tone. Nothing to loud! Also what amp should i invest in? I used to have a legacy 800w 4channel. But it got nicked!

how much you going to spend mate?

10 or 12??

are you going to be adding to the amp or just running a sub of it??

Money is budgetable at the moment but should have some money to invest into the install soon so anything at the moment. 12" maybe! Probably just the sub off the amp and some components, getting rid of 6x9's. Dont know much about components and subs and amps to be honest! Don't know what is best to get. advice would be helpful!

I don't know what your budget is but RE audio subs are well recommened such as this,

and a good set of Boston Acoustics component speakers,

Are Alpine type R subs any good? I got type R 6x9's and they are pretty good for 6x9's. So if i got components would i be able to run them off the same amp as the sub? if it was a 4channel one?

I would definately go for the RE linked to, over the other suggestions (no offense intended to anyone).
