Both had their Loyal fans which came together in the Capcom vs SNK titles in the early 2000's, but most old skool fans will remember the true classic versions like Street Fighter II or King of Fighters 95.

I personally was and still am a HUGE Street Fighter fan.

With Capcoms move to Marvel comic world the series got even better, although so of the game play was lost abit during the Alpha series it all returned when capcom released Capcom vs SNK :-)

Looking forward to a PS3 title (hopefully)

Capcom wins hands down, but since the Tekken series started I got hooked.

Also never really got into Virtua Fighter, didnt have the same magic as
Tekken.

But Street Fighter is a classic, my favourite was definately Super Street Fighter
2 Turbo and then X Men VS Street Fighter.

Capcom VS SNK: Mark of the Millenium was a damn good game too,
this was developed by Capcom though so they still win in that sense.

Thats such a good point about Tekken tho, I can remember getting my 1st PSone all them years ago and having a demo for Tekken2 and the Graphics where so out of this world, "you mean you can walk around your opponant in a circle WOW"

Vitura Fighter I think was alittle bit earlier than the first Tekken but I could never get into Vitura Fighter either.

Must admit the original Soul Calibur on the PSone had one of the best intro's ever and still looks good today, and game werent bad either :y:

Yes it has been known after a few pints of Guniess that I shout Ha-Do-Ken (also pushing the hands out in the same manner as Ryu & Ken) to people walking down the street :-)

A Sonic Boom also goes a long way once youve had a bit to drink :-)

Just don't try a Psycho Crusher when drunk! Always ends up with a face-splat!

^^^

Dhalsim look fantastic in Street Fighter Alpha2 possibly the best of the non original titles as it featured loads of the original characters and a frsh bunch of 'Usable' new ones unlike over versions where new characters just added to make numbers up.

Think this is turning out to be a bit of a white wash in Capcoms Favour :-)

One thing that made SNK's titles such as King of Fighters and Samurai showdown was when the characters moved away from each over and reached the boundaries of the screen the screen would zoom out and reduce the size of the characters giving the effect of a camera zooming out, for its time very nice. Most SNK title would find themselves either in a Jama Arcade unit or in the homes in NeoGeo format (the console of Kings)
