Normally a few grand to hire a track (depends on the track to some will be over 10k) or an airfield for a few hours.
With that cost in mind and the underwhelming responses to track days already its not going to happen any time soon

Well mags like perfomance Ford (ducks for cover) and French Car mag (GTi mag) often do shoot outs, group trashes and general testing at airstrips and the like, could try contacting a Mag and offering a Group meet get as many cars to one and offer to split the cost between the mag and the club.
Got nothing to lose.

i have done a live event b4 and its not easy to do trust me.
was nothing to do with cars tho but if its on grounds inside lets say east riding council they will say you need insurance, stewards, first aid, police need to be notified, nearby toilets.
plus a really good amount of members on here willing to come your talking at least £40+ per head insurance will be sky high.to do my event insurance was over 2K lol first aid cost £75 per hour toilets to keep them open was £50 per hour Stewards cost over £800.
the event took 6 months to plan out.and lasted only 6 hours lol.
its a good idea to do it but its alot of work you have to put in its alot better tho if you know the right ppl to go to.;)

even if it did cost 1500, if you have 30 people to split the cost between then it works out a lot cheaper than a normal airfield track day.
a normal air field track day is about £100
if there was 30 people and it cost 1500, it would only be £50 per person to cover renting the air field.

Top fellar, keep up the good work.
As for the food even if no one could get hold of a burgar van or then a one or too B&Q Barbees with some sasuages, Burgers and stuff wouldnt kill anyone, and Im sure if two people split the cost of the food and coal and stuff people would have whip round to pay for their entry.
This isnt a major event like mentioned its a small group of people on a enclosed private area. If people could organise illeagal raves on private farms in the 80s then Im sure we can put together a mini group thrash :-)

i think thats to do with the price of going on track at a national even. its just too expensive.
FCS is £37 for 30mins on track which isnt exactly good value. you can do a full day on an airfield for around £100 with an open pit lane so you can go on track as much as you like.
i know the national events are held at proper race tracks but i know which one i would rather spend my money on. hopefully if we managed to hire an airfield then the price would be far more reasonable and more people would support the event.

i cant remember the cost of the 4 hour open pit session we had a fcs last year but it was cheap and again sax-p ended up covering the costs. i have had a look into this before mate.
i can sort out a day at croft in the north east, this is a top quality race track, BTCC and superbikes use the track on a regular basis. if we could get enough peeps, we could get the whole track to ourselves for a whole day. or just half a day if you wanted. This track can become very busy during summer etc.
Elvington can also be hird but the just an air field, where hamster had the crash on top gear.
there are a load of dis-used airfields around my way, i know of at least 4, some of them you can get onto, but may be kicked off if there are a load of peeps there.
