Did my two side windows the other day and i really cant get rid of the bubbles around the outside, you push them out and another one pops up, is there away of heating the film. Got a hair dryer and a paint stripper heat gun is there anything i can use. i have tried pricking them and i cant get rid of them. Going to re-do them any way, going to clean them using a cleaners clay as i didnt last time and there are a few hairs on it. Cheers REP given

If you're trying to get the bubbles (air pockets) out from the perimeter (dot matrix) then you can't instantly. They will soon dry out. Just push them out every now and then.

i need to redo them anyway as there are slight creases in it in some places where it stuck to itself and where there are hairs under the film. Will do the re window then consider doing the side again

I can't really find a decent pic of it but this is the best I could find...

Because of the perimeter dot matrix, it's very hard to get a clean and smooth finish. But over time, it should disappear. Looks like a clear border.

how did you do the windows mate, did you take them out to do, ive heard of people using talc on tints dont know what it does tbh think it dries it out, what i would do is take them off and try again, if you cant get it right get a proffessional to do them

Best way is to take the tints off and try again. This time take the windows out and place them on a flat surface so its easier to get at.
Re-apply the tint slowly and use a heat gun or a hairdryer to dry up the liquid as your iron out any imperfections in the tint with something flat i.e. a card.

Take your time at it and you cant go wrong, you will most likely need someone to put the film on the glass slowly from one side to the other while you iron out the imperfections and heat it to make it nice and permanently stuck.

Forgot to say dont use a heat gun on a really high setting as this will only damage the glass, cant remember exactly what it damages but it damage something.

How are some of them steamed on? My mate had his steamed on what does this mean? Is it the same as putting the film on? He seems to think its the best.

tinting windows yourself is a proper kick in the bollocks, I could never get the bubbles out, best just to leave it to the pro's lol

You gotta start somewhere though how do you think the pros get that good, practising lol. That isthe only problem when doing it yourself is getting rid of the bubbles but practise makes perfect.

Realistically you need to take the windows out to stop it being so fiddly and cramped as it would be if you were in the car. You will also need more than yourself to do them. Thats how pros do it
