might be worth getting all new ones anyway

also im guessing the the driveshafts are uprated, and you would need rear disk conversion especially with a VTS engine

all driveshafts are same

apart from the ends what go into the hub they changed them later on

well mine is a 1997, where would i be able to find drawings or diagrams where all the mounts are on the engines. Yer i need to do the rear axle aswell what is involved in having that done, is it a straight swap or do they need to run complete new brake lines to the back? Cheers

Nope they are not mate, VTS ones have a bearing on the longer shaft as this helps to reduce torque steer ! i ahve had greif with drife shafts as there is quite a few different ends that go into the hub, if i was you i would get front struts and shafts all off the same car, atleast that way you kno it will all fit !

you dont need the rear beam conversion the rear brakes do next to non of the braking anyhow

i would surgest getting an anti roll bar from a vts/gti/rallye/vtr though and put that in your drum beam as it will stiffen up the rear end nicely

Oh right i thought the moderaty of braking was at the rear as if it was at the front it would cause the front wheels locking up or skidding. How likely is it to find a whole vts with an engine at a breakers? Need to start looking in to it.

think about 70% of breaking maybe slightly more is done from front

best thing todo is go around scrappys looking for 1 they wont be hard to find

tam on ssc will sort you 1 out

get some 206 gti brakes if your worried bout gettin brakes, leave the back

vts drive shafts are different as they have some kinda ring or sensor or somethin on to do with the vts i was told at the garage

you can use these shafts on base models though

most of the braking is at the front as others have said since the cars front wheels are driven so needs most braking there
