first thoughts you would think this is just wheel balancing, but i think its a little bit more than that.
i have only just bought the car tonight (i knew it had this problem).
from start up to high speeds the steering and i could say the whole car just wobbles.
any ideas?.. it is a constant wobble and seems to get faster with the speed of travel!.

does the car pull to one side as you drive it, could be a tracking or steering arm issue

as said its most likely the tracking, get that checked and if its not, then post back up again!

like i say though it is quite a violent shake which i why i thought it was a bit more than balancing needed,..
i thought it could be the wishbone bushes??

Check and see if the wheels are straight or are angled slightly into the car.

if its a problem that has been with you a while, check as well the wear on your tyres are even, so they aren't on a camber, or inside has more wear as this will indicate an issue.

tracking and wheel balancing are different mate, the wheel could be perfectly balanced, this is done with the addition of weights and is independent of the car, once the wheels are balanced they can go on any car without being adjusted. The tracking however is down to the car, it would mean the wheel alignment was not quite straight, possibly with both front wheels angling inwards abit.

There are 2 bolts in the drivers & passengers footwells which hold the wishbone to the car. IF you think its bushes these bolts should be your first port of call, its more likely that they are loose than it is the bushes are broken :y: if you search the forum there are a few threads which go into more detail with this

after further examination in the daylight i could see that the tyre was worn so badly that it had started to bulge!.
i have now fixed the problem!.
