Right i passed my test in September 05, but i had been on an insurance policy since June 05, when will i be able to say ive had 2 years driving exp? June or September.
Also my dad recons i have NCB because im a named driver on my mums policy with Norwich Union, which i think is abit of bollocks as im sure there is only a few companies that do this, Direct Line being one of them. His argument to this is that he had been a named driver for past 20 years but has full no claims with Norwich Union. So do i or don't i?

i dont think you'll have NCB mate, ur best bet is to phone norwich union and see if they offer that deal.i would say yout 2 years driving experience is technically sep 07! but mines wud be in april 07, i just tell the insurers i been driving nearly two years and they put 2 years!!

Phone up Norwich Union and ask them mate. I heard that with Direct Line, if you are a named driver on a policy and you acquire NCB with them - for the NCB to be valid, you need to take out the policy with Direct Line again (if you get me).
So your insurance is up for renewal in June 2007? If so, I'd technically say you have been driving 2 years in September, but if you put June you'll be fine and get cheaper insurance.

Thats right about direct line! They give you no claims from the day you pass your test as a named driver on a policy with them, but it is only valid if you take out a full policy with themselves. As for when you have been driving, it is generally from the day you pass your test!

I was on my mums insurance for a year through asda (broker for N.U) got my own insurance wiv Quinn Direct and gave me about 480 of the quote for being a named driver. but usually u will hav to stay wiv ur original insurance company in order to get the ncb. as for the first ? not sure mate.
