Ive just bought my saxo VTR. im 18 with 1 years no claims bonus but half-way through my second year. my orginal quote was £970 on a 1.2 Clio and my insurance company (Norwich Union) wanted an extra £402 to insure my VTR.

Anyone think thats good or bad? i was told i had to be 21 to insure these badboys of a car! whats that all about?!?!

Ive also looked at a quote for my third year of insurance and the best ive found is with Elephant, they want £1200 for a third year with 2 years no claims. Is that any good or do any of you guys know of some better insurance companys that would make it cheaper for me?

Once again so much for being 21!?!?!

Seems a little "steep" tbh. I know people who are paying around that (£1,300) to insure a VTS and the VTR is seven insurance groups less.

21? Again... I'm not too sure what that's about. A while back, I was told by my insurance company (at the time), that there'd be no chance insuring me on a turbo until I was 21 but not a VTR.

Yeah ive been told that you cant get insured on any VT model until your 21 with a few insurance companies. Trying to save money as they get written off so much by young people
