the jewel ones are black plastic so they shine through ok, the ones your going to do will be paint and will restrict the light unless you have the tinting spray or mix paint with a lot of laquer, what spray did you buy???

There are a few things to consider:

The Law states you cant do anything to diminish the light that comes out the rear lights

You need red reflectors on the rear of your car (most rear lights have these)

The black jewel lights you would buy online arent a solid black but they are E-Marked & road legal & do contain the red reflector strips too.

If you spray them that much that you cover up the reflector then they become illegal. Can get reflector stickers and stick them on the car though to get round this. But generally its rare you have a problem. Ive had mine done for months now. And ive been pulled over in a random stop thing. And they havent been mentioned. I just make sure as soon as people start putting lights on you put your side lights on so light on the back comes on. otherwise if someone comes behind you with lights on its obvious you havent any rear reflectors.

I brought tint spray and it said a fine layer is road legal. But apply more and becomes illegal or somethink along those lines.

they do look much darker than they are beacause of the light!! :p

i have had a copper behind me and they didnt pull me/follow me they just looked on...it was at night though so you couldnt really tell, so they do appear to be legal just dont spray them too dark...oh and laquer the lights after, the tinting sray will crack if you dont! :y:
