hey i have a saxo vtr 2000 model, the problem is when i try and start the car the solnoid in the starter just clicks first off a thought it was the starter motor so i replaced it still no joy! i replaced the battery still no joy! replaced the alternator no joy ether! when i bump start the car it will drive for a while with no problems but then it loses all electrical power? hopefully someone out there may be able to help? a dont think a can put up with any more double decker busses!

av got got a toad alarm? does any one know if there is some kind of voltage regulator before the starter motor?

does it unlock and lock the car ok

a dont know what type of toad it is? it does'nt open/close the doors? the solinoid is clicking so its gettin power just not enough to turn it ovr?

do u think i should try adding another earth from the starter motor?

it has the function to open/close the doors but a dont think anyone has wired it up?

are the wires going to the starter ok

no wires split or touching

yeah it will be something simple it always is

i had a simlar problem with mine at weekend think it ahd sometging todo with the alarm its all ok now though now that was odd

Get the mulitimeter out on the wires from the starter motor, you may have a burnt out wire causing a restriction.

because you have not just got a starting fault also a problem when driving, from just off what ur saying first thing i would be looking at is ignition barrel not having good connections and having high resistance, causesing problems when starting due to not getting the full 12v needed to turn over, then maybe loosing the ignition when driving as like to turn the car off. what happens when u lose power exactly. but b4 this i would be making sure all connections are okay on starter batteries ect, even clean all connections
