Rear wheel hub Nut and shaft threaded.

What I would like to know is does the rear hub shaft come off the back axel or is it all one peace ?

I was ask to fix the hand brake for someone and on removing the drums I found the rear nut loose and the shaft threaded, Not only that but someone before me had stuck a sticker in side the cap that fits over the nut and it Says "hub needs replaced HAHA".

I know there is 2 ways to fix this.

1. Cut new thread on shaft and get a new replacement nut. Shaft and nut are 22mm 1.75 pitch, so I will need to get a 20mm dye and a new smaller nut to do this, Getting a 20mm dye might be hard to come by.

2. Replace hole backed for car parts bought from scrappy. Don't want to do this due to time and money factor.

3. This is why I'm here can the rear hub shaft be replaced on this car with out having to replace the back end ???????????????
