what size front speakers do i need to replace the other ones? does any1 have any that they reccommend for a resasonable price?

the front are 13 cm and the back are 10 cm i think smileys/smiley5.gifhmmmm loads of speakers available..

correct front 13cm rear 10cm.

The fronts are easy to replace just use a small screwdriver to prise off the cover, more often that not the origional speakers are held in by pop rivets, these have to be drilled out, get your self a small drill bit thats just about the size of the hole in the middle of the rivet. Then drill it right through the middle of the rivets and they should fall out and the speaker to. Disconnect the plug. Now what i done here was cut the plug off and just strip a little of the wire covers off, then connected these up to the new speaker and then screw the new speaker into place.

Done.

Yep I changed my front speakers over the weekend for some kenny's. Couldn't get the plastic covers off the rears one's I take it they just pop off as well?

no you have to take the rear door card off to get to them.

Take out the bottom of the rear seat bench, lift the window seal rubber around the top of the door card and the door seal around the edge of the door card, the door card then needs to be pulled off, get your fingers around the edge somewhere and start to pull it off, reach behind and unplug the speaker and thats you.

If you break any of the clips they are only 12 odd pence from citreon

i found it necessary to undo the bolt holding the rear seat belts in position (down under the rear seats) off so i could remover the whole rear card.

and when taking the car out u need tyo have the rear seat forward and unclip the rear card from the bit in the boot on both sides so that it comes out easier... it just slides apart.

by the way does any1 know what is the power of the standard citroen head unit (CD) bcos mine seems loud, even compared to my mates kenwood (the 75 quid one)

its probably about 4 or 5W RMS maybe 20W max if you lucky as the citreon paper cones are rated at 5W rms if i remember rightly

hmm, this pretty much answers my question as well.

Have fitted some new front speakers (was wondering how to get those rivets off, but followed the advice above and they came off a treat) and have some 6 x 9's to install on the parcel shelf. I presume I'm going to have to get the rear door cars off, I was just wondering how difficult this is to do? This is my first car, and I'm a complete amatuer at this sort of thing. I will pay to have it fitted if necessary, but would rather have the satisfaction of being able to do it myself.

easy job removin the door cards and any problems just come online and ask, plus if u hav spare 15 quid buy a haynes manual, been quite a big help for me!!
