If i strip the car and take out seat belts, but then one time put the seats back in but not the seatbelts, should be fine with that shouldnt i?
obv not if i have someone in the back, but i never have people in the back so that wont ever happen
so can i have rear seats without the seatbelts?

To pass an MOT you need seatbealts in the rear if you have seats in i know that much, don't know how it stands if your pulled...

chances of me gettin pulled are low, chances of them checking for rear seltbelts lower, but if i dont have anyone in, can they do me? i cant see how they could

MOT seatbelt laws (http://www.ukmot.com/5-1.asp)
In a nutshell, it's only a fail if you have the rear seats fitted but no seatbelts. In other words, every seat fitted has to have a seatbelt. Would just to be easier to take out the rear seats if you're leaving the belts unattatched.

The golden rule is:
If its there - Its gota work
So if you have rear seats they have to have seat belts and mountians, so if you lose the seats you can lose the rear seat belts, if the seats go back in idealy for MoT time the seat belts and mountains Must be in there too.
But if its just for show then you should be fine, but if Mr PC Plod pulls you and sends you to the MoT station then your need them.

if the car came as standard without seat belts it will pass an MOT but were talking a good 15 year back lol, so you certainly and definatley need seatbelts its the law :y:

I think you'll be fine Matt, dont think they can do you if there's no passengers but they may do as they have no way on knowing your not going to pick mates up etc.

all i no is that come MOT time, if you dont have them in you will fail. its a given fact that if a car was manufactured with seatbelts in, then it needs them to pass the MOT

Its perfectly legal unless you have rear passengers, my Dad is a pretty decent driving instructor and knows the laws inside out.

Im not on about MOT
i was thinking of getting carbon door cards, so i would have to ditch the rear seatbelts, but i may be having the car in pompey after easter, so it would be a 5 hour treck with no interior, and that would do my head in with the road noise...
so i would leave the seats infor my own sanity
plus no seatbelts is a reason that i can use when everyone wants a lift...
