Why do new springs knock?

Why do they? I fitted some new springs had a knokcing noise but it has disappered on its own i didnt even do anything? Im not complaining just wondering realy?

They were eibach springs aswell so not cheap!

Is it the way they sit?

How long it take to disappear? My standards knocked, and I replaced them when lowering, and they still knock... but hopin now mayb they'll stop!! I doubt it though...

About 2 weeks but i dont drive it all the time, it graduly disappeared though so thats what makes me think it was a spring plus i have heard people moaning about new springs knocking before.

If your standards knock and they have been replace and they still knock id say it was deff something else not the springs!

If they werent seated properly it might have taken therm a while to sit right.

Also brand new springs will take a while to settle aswell, im not to sure why that would make em knock but it might have something to do with it :)

my handbreak cable was knocking at the back against the alloy/tyre meet

I read up alot about pros and cons of lowering a Saxo but never noticed any warning about the handbrake cable catching the wheels. I couldn't locate the knocking at first until I looked under the back bumper and saw the cable touching the alloy/tyre.

How long usually do springs take to drop/sag to their design?

Not long mate 100-200 miles?

Mine knock was coming from the near side front wheel!
