Just was out with my car and read something earlier about a knocking noise and tightening the supsension under the bonnet so i thought i would give it a try and one of the nuts isnt doing up or undoing it just seems to be spinning with the socket. I am just about to use a spanner to see if the bolt spins with the nut, what shall i do if it spins is there a bolt head i can hold while tighening the nut? could i mole grip the bolt while doing up the nut? Cheers

gota go out in a min but as you lift the bonnet up the suspension strut bit there are the bolts holding the suspension in place one of them is not tightening up. Just double checked it the bolt is staying still but it isnt getting any tighter what could be the problem?

or try and retap it
sounds like you have pulled the treads off try a new nut first and the mounts probally under £50 but its the labour that will kill it i think its hour and half labour @ £70 odd quid

holding the thread with mole grips and turn nut with spanner but you may damage the bolt threads more
