My westcoast 99, seems to cough out smoke from the exhaust like too much petrol is being pumped and the car sounds like its coughing.The revs increase by itself aswell. What could this be? The petrol injector? Sometimes the car stalls itself aswell..is this problem related to it?

how long ago you had the car serviced?? sounds like

fuel filter
spark plugs/leads
idle switch
possible sensors need replacing
diagnostic should tell if there is definatly something wrong bud

what colour is the smoke?

It could be the coil pack mate!

actually, sounds like the head gasket!!! explains smoke and jerky engine. in which case, head needs skimmed and new gasket

I agree with head gasket.. sounds like its running really rich
