Torsion bar lowering - the wrong way

I know this has prob been covered before, there are threads about how to lower it properly but what is the wrong way and what happens if its done this way?

the wrong way is to knock the hwole rear arm off, push it up the way until it fits back on.

No guarantee both sides will be lowered the same and run a high risk of funking the rear axle bearings to
