hi, mot is due on my vts in a couple of weeks. first one for me since owning it. what are the usual things saxo's fail on??

Hmm, dont know if there are really any usual things specific to saxos.
Get an MOT checklist off the web n just have a run over everything to make sure u dont have to spend silly extras.
I suppose the wiperblades on saxos are a bit naff, make sure urs aint ripped. if you have an aftermarket exhaust make sure the catalytic converter is present & make sure you have no warning lights on the dashboard :y:

Make sure all your lights are working.. panel boards at the back, check all your lights and bulbs, that's quite a big one.. and if your screen wash holes are blocked, un-block them because they will charge you if they have to do it, ive learnt this from my own experience lol, charged me £2 extra for it!

If you've got mods, make sure they dont result in failure.
decatted, for instance
Or after market rear lights with no reflectors.

simple checks you could do is
check
all lights work
tyres
wipers and washers
seatbelts
