What was the score?
Emma_ZS
20th February 2007, 21:44
the lille players were trying to intimidate the referee what a perthetic thing to do, the crowd shouldnt throw missiles as Neville was hit by one. CUM ON UTD nothing was wrong with the goal at all, freekicks like that have been done a dozen times in the premiership before!

haha lille what the fuck they playin at just cause we scored a cracking free kick
Danny_vtr
20th February 2007, 21:52
1-0 giggs took a quick freekick and scored, then the assitant manager or someone decided tell the team come off the pitch, then the crowd started throwing stuff at g neville and on the pitch.

Very happy with that result :)
I loved it when their goal was disallowed plainly because the tit that scored it had been cheating all the way through, showing the ref an imitation card whenever he got touched trying to get Utd players booked

The goal was fair and square.. The referee clearly walked away which enables the free kick to proceed.. In all respect Lille should be fined due to the fans throwing things onto the pitch and cutting neville's eyebrow open, and the assistant manager fined and banned from further matches in Europe..
Quality goal tho!

1. Why am i jealous?
2. Nice to see such a rational and well thought out response to a comment.
3. Judging from this reply i can see why football threads seem to turn into slanging matches and get locked.
4. Well done, you beat the worst team left in the competition.

didnt henry do it against them and they complained?
i know henry did it against boro
i dont understand the rules on that goal, its dodgy, its not exactly good sporting conduct to take it when they are not ready, but then they shouldnt of fouled in the first place
lilles goal was dodgy, one side looks like he pushed vidic over, other side it doesnt

In all honesty goals like that shouldnt be given. Like Matt said, It isnt very sporting and if it had happened to utd they would of gone mental.
Its a shame that teams feel they have to trick the other team with attacks like this when times are hard and they were been out played.
Had it been Chelsea or Arsenal the views from you Utd fans would be sooooo different, But that is expected tbh.
Karl

Bit of a crazy end to a crappy game.
Ah well. Least United didnt lose to a worse team.

Admittedly the kick was rushed,
But if it was your team doing it to Utd, you would be all for it.

its one of them things, if its your team who scores, its genius, if its your team scored against, its not fair
they need to clear up the rules on it

Dont know if you read what i put about been sporting but like i have already said it isnt very sporting isit.
Chelsea have done it this year but they won in a 3-0 win so the goal was hardly the decider of the match and wasnt as mental as that last night.
Nothing fucks me off more then unsporting matchs, Diving, pushing forward from dead play, playing on when a player is done and the team effected by it lose posention and shit like that.
I think its a bit debatable with the disallowed goal before, maybe he shouldnt of allowed it.
They was saying on TV that managers have to request for the whisle at freekicks or something, so whats with the rule 'play to the whistle' Its a dark ruled out area which is a bit touchy.
Karl
21st February 2007, 11:29
fair play Leckie, i dont think it was very sportsmanship either, but, it COULD have been the decider for Chelsea in that game.
Plus I know we woulda gone mental if it had been the other way round, but thats football. and Utd going mental wouldnt of disallowed the goal either.

Im not saying it would of disallowed the goal, what i ment was all the fans on here saying it was a goal they would of kicked off a fuss but that is obvious any team would.
nah doubt it was the decider, was in the last 10 mins of the match lol.

idk; I dont follow football whole heartedly.
Ive just supported Utd since a kid cos my Dad said so >_<
But rly, arent there like 1000001 more Chelsea fans in the world since they started winning and got that russian dude spending bajillions on them?

i applied for a season ticket 2 weeks ago for me and my dad.
They said we had to be memebers for 2 years and get the most points out of all those that have applied to apply for 2 of 1500 season tickets available. Fucking joke tbh, as if £850 for the ticket wasnt enough they expect you to go to most of the matchs the season's before and then you can apply. Jokes init.
We are going to get the away memebership next season, Been tricky getting to any games in the last year with the new born in the family, only got to two games, FA cup semi and Sheld at cardif, both lost to liverpool haha.

That would be the higher class folk who go to games in suits.........its football.....people will always support the team doing well.
A lad I was in school with supported so many teams it was mad, who ever won the world cup he would buy there shirt and make up that his dad was brazilian, italian, spanish, argetninian but born in France.
Just winds me up when you are out on a saturday and some fuckwit supports Man Utd and goes on how good they are.......and I just think what a twat

Well it was the same with utd when they came through in the 90s mass amounts of supporters kicking around.
Arsenal in the early 2000's you use to see shit loads of arsenal shirts on the shirts now i cant even remember the last time i saw one its that long ago.
twaz the only kid in both first and second school to support chelsea, wearing my chelsea shirt with Zola on the back, i used to get some right stick lol

Was once sat in the bear garden with landy last summer, Chelsea shirt had come out that day and a group of men started talking loudly about football on a table near me, Then this guy shouted over
'what ya saying then chelsea boy'
'whats that then....'
'my god hes not even a fucking cockney'
then all the guys burst out laughing. had a few jars of stella down the neck so i marched over, we all talked footie and turned out the guy that was giving it large was a utd fan who had never been to a match in his life.
Was funny

Same in my neighbourhood.......I dont wear football shirts.....the real hooligan hides his colours...rock on.
Once we went to blackpool we went into the pub called "The Manchester" mate walked in with chelsea shirt and the bouncer even said "He wont last long in there" 15mins later we were booted out with pint glasses being chucked was eventful
