Anyone know to tell the difference between 1.4 and 1.6 saxo engine?
Put a block in from a breakers who told me it was 1.6.Now i,m told its 1.4 !

i dont really know how you'd find out

maybe u would be able to tell by the rev limiter????? the vtr is set at about 6300-500 rpm and surely the 1.4 would be set a bit lower!?

there should be an engine code on the block..........

ill find out today where it is and what it should be and ill get back to you later tonite.....

put a magnet on teh block, if its sticks its a 1.6.

There are other little clues but would need pictures of the whole engine

...or find another vtr owner. Have a race and if you come out close it is probably a 1.6 if not its a 1.4 lol.

scotts right, put a magnet on it and then u will know for definate.

Thanks for the replies.Tried the magnet on the block.It is a 1.4 then! Oh well,least i,ll know if i want to change it again sometime.
