Afternoon

Had my Mk1 VTR about a month now. Level of acceleration has been a bit up and down and now seems to have dropped off consistently. Can't think of a better word than 'oomph' but its definitely lost something, not getting that feeling of power from low down when I put my foot down.

Any obvious reasons?

Thanks

a service might show up any obvious problems

without being funny it could just be that you've got used to the car & its power, therefore it doesn't suprise you as much

Let one of your mates drive it on private ground with you in the passenger seat and see if it still feels nippy. When your not incontrol you will be surprised how quick it feels :P

You could well be right that it's just my perception. After 7 years driving a 106 XND the car felt VERY quick at first! Maybe I'm just used to it now

Wanting to get into doing things myself on the car (never bothered at all previously). How easy is to do things like change the plugs, air filter etc for a complete novice? I've bought a Haynes manual - full of good intentions!
