I have some on my vts, as you all know ive been polishing my rims, well when it comes to putting them back on the car im worried about tightening them as they are the set with 3 holes one side and one hole on the other (of the head)
So there is not much grip given by the locking nut key is there!
When it came to sticking the last wheel back on today i could feel it trying to go, so what to do as i no longer want them on the car :n:
Just get four standard nuts?

id get another set of locking nuts mate, as being s wheels, plus there polished some piky is bound to try and nick them. I had similar locking nuts on my vtr wheels, n just did them as tight as the stardard ones

The set (locking nuts) i have is just a realy shit design i think, they could easily be rounded off!

Get some McGard ones off ebay mate, theyre known as the best ones aswell in tests they always come out on top. Theyre 27 quid posted for a set which is well worth it if you value your rims i reckon

Theyre a good idea, but i had a problem with my last set too, one of them was so close to the full rounding, thankfully it wasnt too tight to undo else id have had problems.
On the new alloys i havnt got locking nuts yet, still my alarms got tilt motion sensors etc so i doubt they'll get nicked

id still get them an alarms not going to stop them if they want the wheels they will get them
nobody cares if an alarm goes off now be it car or house alarm

i havent had locking wheel nuts on my car for 2 years, riding my luck maybe but i cant be dicked with locking nuts and garages using zip guns to put them back on then chewing them up.

If there getting rounded off go to halfrauds or a decent parts garage and get a set. Your looking at up 2 £30 for MCgard's but its well worth it mate. I would hate to see them get pinched

Chrage them for it or request they take them off manually, if it happened to me thats what i would do

a quick question: do they need to take your wheels off for a MOT?

Simple option, put that std ones back on before it goes to the garage. If all that hard work on the vts rims goes to waste cus some little twat nicks em youll regret it. I bought some an ive only got VTR rims, but id rather they done get nicked.
