hey ppl feelin a bit piss*d off at the mo as i just been laid of work ! any body kno the law on pay and holiday pay e.g. redundancy, and can i claim holiday pay ? ive been workin there 2 years.

they should give u money to pay u off, i think, sounds like a posh place, so they should give you it, also if they didnt give a decent reason why they were letting u go, then u can say its unfair dismal, as for holiday pay im not sure if u can claim it, u could always ask them?

from what i know about people being laid off, they usually lay off the one thats been there the least amount of time

yeah thats probarly the reason they have then, because you aint a fully employed employee, means they might not pay you off though mate :(

doubt a copper is gonna be able to help you mate. this is a civil matter!

speak to citizens advice, they will be able to advise you on what your rights are and where to get further help if you may need it.

as far as iam aware if they are alying off an apprentice they have to find you another job

you should be entiltled to any holidays you still have left,as for redundancy its normally a weeks wages for every year you've been there(depends on the company)but thats the crack at my work.

hazy you gotta have been ther a certain amount of time before that applies and as an apprentice i doubt he has, when my gf was an apprentice she was made redundant and only got her hols, they only have to give you more if ther feeling generous. You will be entitled to holiday pay for the hols you have earner but not take since the start of your hol entitlement e.g march.
