Noticed this morning as I pulled the handbrake on that it came up a lot further than normal. Tonight as I was driving home I noticed that the brakes didnt seem to apply as they should do, I had to really put my foot to the floor, would this be connected to the handbrake? I guess I should get em checked out????

it pushes the shoes onto the drum making you stop
if the cylinder has gone it wont be pushing the shoes out
it will also will be leaking fluid
so id maybe get it looked at asap
it might just need adjusting but with breaks its better to be safe then sorry

Cool thanks, will see if I can it looked at tomorrow. They work ok if I slow down through the gears but I wouldn't trust them if I had to brake sharply!

Expensive job? Our local ATS is open tomorrow so I'll get it looked at there.

really you should replace both side cylinders then both side shoes as the shoes will be contaminated with fluid which will be bad
depending on how bad there leeking
places like ATS will try sell you the lot
cylinders are about £5 each shoes about £20odd
then theres fitting
