Saxo 1.1i 8v vs Renault Clio 1.2 16v

Is there any mods that i can do to ensure victory?
I've looked at stats on the web about both cars and apparently there 0-60 times are the same. So with an induction kit, decat pipe and backbox what are the odds?

a note to bear in mind. when i had my 1.4i 8v furio, i had a race with a 1.2i 16v corsa (sxi) and we were neck and neck. both cars being standard. i wouldnt think the clio would be a lot different, so please bear this in mind.

i dont think there will be a saxo victory in this case.

the clio's are heavier than then corsa n they got bout 75brake, my mates got one and he claims to thrash furio's, he's full of shite mind so i'm waiting to see it with own eyes!

clio is heavier as its got all the gadgets (assuming youre talking about a new one) but i think will still take it.

As it stands i've got the induction kit fitted, decat and backbox on the way, and the wheels get here in 2 days. Apart from losing spare wheel ect, what else can i do?

When I had my 1.1i (standard) I kept up with a renault 19 16v till 50 so if its a sprint you might just need some trial runs and get used to it but if its a proper race then the spare wheel, making sure there is nothing in the boot and even you doing it on your own (no mates in the car) will all help.

hhmm it will be very tight indeed! Think on ur own without spare wheel you will have a gud chance! 1.2 clios arent that quick 1.4 maybe but not 1.2!

Am worried about DevilDamo getting beaten by a 1.2 corsa, new or old u shud be nailing it! If thats the case then a 1.4 corsa shud beat me let a loan a 1.6 but they dont keep anywhere near me wen i put my foot down ave got a vtr but still come on furios kill 1.2's or shud do!

I once had a 1.1sx pink bomber saxo. It had induction kit (K&N) and
a cheap shit SPORTEX £60 exhaust. No crap, it was fucking shit off a
shovel for the engine size. I think it had been run in quite wellcos
previous owner used it for motorway journeys. But I can assure you
that it kicked c**o rt arses, 1.2 corsa's butts and even kept up with
my mates VTR to about 85-90mph.

Maybe but I had a laugh at his expence anyhow, but honest to got
every one who drove it said it was wick for a 1.1sx. Must have just
been a good cheap as f**k set up.

Let me tell ya this.
My old 1.1 was fast as hell. I kept up with a Saxo 1.4 furio till topspeed.About 110mph smileys/fcuk.gif
0-60 times was 11.5secs. Pretty fast considering its a 1.1.
Mods were: Green induction kit, Remus DTM back box. Powerfull midpipe and Powerfull dummy kat.
Never had the chance to put it on the roller road for a test. I traded my 1.1 for a VTS a day before I was goin on the roller road, so te VTS ended up the roller road.

a 1.6 ESI civic shoulda beaten a VTR, but it didnt coz the person in civic was CRAP! and he cant get off the line quick enuff!
