I have picked up from a scrappers a set of front calipers from a 2005 1.9D berlingo van.

I ordered some discs and pads from buypartsby.com and they have arrived but after having read a bit more information it seems like i have got the wrong offset discs !!

The ones i have are 27.9mm and i think that the 05 berlingo ran 34mm or something.

Can anybody confirm this ?

Also whats the difference between them. i mean they are both the same size disc's arn't they so whats the deal with the offset ?

Have i been stupid and bought the wrong calipers. will 34mm offset discs fit under 14" VTR wheels ?

What is the consequence of using the the discs i have if the offset isn't right for the calipers ?

help is needed

I have the same problem every time I change the disc's on my Partner HDi.

They are on about the step between the face of the disc and the mounting on the stub axle.

A few times I have taken the disc off and replaced with new to find that the caliper wont fit back on.

I Think that mine are the wider offset, and they do fit under the std VTR 14" wheel, as I used a set off the rally car when the snow was about.

Hope this helps.

thanks for that.

It seems that if you get the calipers from a 1.9d/2.0d from 2001 onwards you have the bosch caliper and therefore need to get the bigger offset discs (34.4mm i think)

anything before 2001, you need the 27.4mm offset discs.

i bought the wrong discs and pads but have sorted it out now, hopefully !!
