ive rebooted my computer but the speakers wont work any ideas?
in device manager they havent been picked up? and no disk came with the speakers:P

Speakers wont actually have thier own section in device manager. Your sound card will however. Look under Sounds, Video and Game controllers. If that sound card is installed properly then it wll be your speakers at fault.
Make sure they are plugged into the correct port, there will be 3 but only one for the speakers. Make sure the volume is turned up on the speakers and on the PC (look for teh speaker icon in the taskbar by the clock). Also check to make sure the sound is not muted.

theres no sound card in the list =(
Reseat the sound card or install the latest drivers for it. It's either been knocked slightly or 'lost' it's drivers.

Look under "Sound & Audio Devices" Check all the tabs are unchecked which may mute sound. Most motherboards come with onboard sound, so make sure your plugging your speakers into the right hole and you should be fine.

download a sound card driver and the will work

lol sorted it, got my motherboard disk, it had sound driver on it :) thanks peeps

Good news. Normally things like that are bebcuase drivers are not installed.

yea i thought that to begin with, but i thought surely the computer would pick something up!?!?
but in this case the disc was needed! lol
