Hi guys, Ive had a look around the forum using the search thing but cannot find what im looking for.
Ever since ive had the car, the gear stick is quite stiff to move in and out of gears, even wiggling it around in neutral feels Stiff. I dont know weather this is a saxo thing or what but its quite annoying when i want to go into 5th and actually put it into 3rd :S. (Poss my bad driving? lol)
I was wondering if their is any gear links, bushes etc that I could possibly have a tinker with (grease/oil/adjust whatevers down their) that might help free the gear change abit?
All Advice Welcome :)

Muy car has always done then, even when my gran had it to start off with. Reverse sometimew wont go in correctly, so you have to place mine back in Netural, then clutch up and down again, then it usually hoes in, roughly that is.

Reverse being stiff / only half engauging / crunching in is typical of these gearboxes.
As global discovery mentioned, if it dont go in let the clutch out and in and try again
If it crunches in2 gear, make sure the clutch is right down and put it in2 reverse slower.
NEVER force it, that how things go from Annoying to Bad & then to Worse and eventually to the wanted forum for a new Gearbox!

I sorted my wifes car out.......
You need to take off the ball joint at the bottom of the lever and get grease to the joint to the gear linkage. Then grease the ball joint.
Next working outside, jack up the car and grease up every joint you can see in the linkage, especially the one with a piston and plunger arrangement. Do all this and the gears will feel like new.

Much appreciated for the advise fellas. I took the gaitor off and ball joint, greased everywhere in and around it. Took it for a quick drive and it seems much better, maybe not perfect but I can live with it for now. Just hope the clutch/gearbox isnt on its way out.
Thanks Again

is this easy to do, is it a case of taking off the gear leaver cover and taking everything else off till you get to the ball joint,( which is what) lol
