right guys and gals,

my exhaust has started rattling/squeeking. its very hard to explain what it sound like. its not any heat shield or any other thing rattling on the exhaust its like the springs are squeeking in the middle section. the gaskets are all new and the springs and bolts aswell.

it seems to be ok once the car warms up but its worst when setting off and changing gear.

any ideas what it could be?

Would have said its the clamps have worked loose or something. Give it a shake and see if you can find the location of the noise.

I have this, a Nationwide Autocentre garage lubed the hangers up for me, it sorted it for a while but its back with a vengance now, along with a knocking noise from the centre section. Fookin exhuast.

Although they said the running gear was fine, i still reckon it might be the clutch as it squeeks louder when you pull away faster, but doesnt squeek when you brake hard with the clutch depressed which it would do if it wasnt clutch related, does this happen with you?

My magnex does this aswell bud, when i tighten the clamp that holds the backbox and center section together it stops, but after about 10mins driving the noise comes back :(

Need a better, wider clamp i think :)

What exhaust do you have?

ive got a janspeed back box, custom s/s middle section and then standard manifold.
going to try putting new clamps and gaskets on again

Lay under the car and shake the exhaust, where does the noise come from?

where the middle section joins the centre section, but ive have tried the bolts loose and tight and it doesnt make any difference so am going to try some new gaskets and bolts and see if that makes a difference

this is now hopefully sorted, put a new gasket, bolts, nuts, washers and springs on tonight at the works garage and it seems to have cured it. i think its got something to do with my exhaust been slightly out of line when it joins together
