i have had a search, but i couldn't find anything about this.

i spent the day yesterday on the oustide of the saxo, but i now need to spend some time on the inside.

my dash is really dusty and i need something to get it looking new again. i've always been reluctant to use sprays, wipes, or products in the past as some can leave stains or water type marks if you know what i mean?

but it now needs some attention to it, so can anybody recomend anything i can do, or what i can use.

i'd give a go with a wet cloth or something, but i dont want to be leaving lots of fibres behind from the cloth or anything like that, which will make it look worse.

any ideas? thanks, matt

i use a spray called cockpit shine, get it from asda as its cheaper there, or from halfords etc! I use a teatowel to wipe it on, as it doesnt leave any cloth fibres, and as long as you wipe it while its wet, it doesnt leave any marks/streaks. Also you can buy a spray similar that is just as good from tesco, although it doesnt smell as nice as the cockpit shine one.

flash dash or silicone spray is the best :y:

the best thing to use is an all purpose cleaner diluted down to the recommended ratio and spray it on the dash. Leave it for a few mins then clean off with a micro fibre.

For stubborn stains use a small brush, mesh slide lock etc to agitate.

Then use a dash dressing to finish off.

I used a simoniz dash bright sponge last time i cleaned my dash - i did about a month ago, and it is still bright black and still looks wet... it's amazing...would thoroughly recommend it :y:

Im not sure how much they are... i found mine in my christmas stocking :homme:

Im not sure how many times you can actually use the sponge... and i will use it again and take an interior shot for you :y: so you can judge for yourself.. it certainly make your dash look clean... if i use a normal household sponge it just seems to leave bits everywhere as it falls apart from the textured dash surface...

I use these wipes from Halfords - Think they are those Armour ones and leave a Matt finish - I couldn't be doing with the shiny dash and sun as it just reflected off the windscreen.

that link didnt work for me, but by the name of them, i think they will be the same as what i got.

they were about £3 from halfords, and they've done a nice job. they've not left any sort of finish on the dash (i just wanted it looking normal, but clean).

well recomended.

Following up what i said before. I boguht the pads at night and gave the dash a clean in the dark since i was bored (knowing i would miss bits and see them in the morning - and i did)

Heres some comparisons:

Just behind the frog & around his feet you can see how dull it looks where i missed it

The bottom left there i didnt do because the stalk was in the way & in the groove towards the heater vent there are some patchy bits!

When you cover a whole area though it looks ace, will have to see how long it lasts!

Also just to put you all off your breakfast / lunch. We have a really dry coupe of weeks until sunday when it poured really heavily all day and ruined my brake dust coated 'anthracite-look' wheels

*sigh* those are some sore looking alloys, think they could do with a refurb

At the weekend i gave the interior a clean & hover & done the dashboard again and it seems much shinier. I bet if you spent a bit of time on it you could have a mirror finish!
