i have been going around with a massive dent in my drivers door for nearly a year now, it has no creases in it an from side on you can hard tell its there but i can notice it easily, av finally had enough, if i found a black saxo in a scrappy how much you think a driver side door would be an what kinda tools would i need to remove it?
thanx

depends mate if it has a window in electric window motor and doorcard. i would say it would be about £50 to £80. just have to undo 2 torx screws. can be a bit of a c**t to get off tho.

there held on by torx bolts mate should be two on the hinges and another one on the bar that only allows the door to open so far, cant remember off the top of my head the size though
as said there a bastartd to get out, if you damage the head your a bit buggered you will probablies need to drill them out or use a screw extractor

i just asked the guy at the scrap yard to take the door off for me. and still only cost me £50. not 100% sure but think mk1 doors have different mounts then mk2 slightly lower. but i may be talking crap. lol

yeah i remember reading about pushin it out but when it came to it i thought i'd fuk up when i cut through the sound proofin it looked like the dent was behind a metal bar thing attached to the metal of the door lol sorry av no idea how to describe it
Predator_R32
10th March 2007, 14:04
metal bar thats either the door handle rod or for the electric windows

Predator_R32

10th March 2007, 14:27
babers you have lost me, you mean to say that aint for the electric window????

Predator_R32
10th March 2007, 14:28
yeah thats for impact and bracing the door :)
yeah that doesnt come out so maybe you will have to get that door after all unless you take it to a bodyshop they should sort it out for quite cheapall they do is put welded rod on the dent grip a slide hammer on it and knock out the dent and probablies paint over it
i think theres specialist places about that do a mobile servie, have a look in the yellow pages :y:
craigy_87
10th March 2007, 14:28

10th March 2007, 14:35
like a say people like dent wizards etc may be able to sort it out
babers
10th March 2007, 14:37
think it would be cheaper just to replace the door, as they will have to take out the window and all the runners and electric motor.
craigy_87
10th March 2007, 14:40

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/V7_MAT/my%20vts/black%20edition/IMGP1487.jpg
could either be the window motor thing like mentioned or that bar you can see inside the door behind the orange cable in the pic (its the same colour as the door)
Predator_R32
10th March 2007, 15:24
