Hey Peeps,

How are you all doing, hopefully better than my car. I have MK1 VTS. 3 month ago i had the power steering fail on me. Took it to the local garage and it needed a Pump. They supplied me with a reconditioned one. Got it back and its been fine ever since. Now Today i come to get in it and the Power steering is not working, i have checked the fluid and itsgot plenty, probably more than it needs. My heater works fine too. One thing i have noticed now is that when i power off the car there is a short humming/buzzing noise for 5 sec after the engine has shut off.

Im thinking the pump has failed but its under warranty. Could it be something else. I read about some fuses under the passenger side dash which i have looked at but mean nothing to me.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Regards

I have now checked the fuse according to another post shoeing the Fuses in the Dash at the passenger side and they are working.

Where is the Pump Grey round thing as described and how can i check it.

Thx

Im in Denton, Manchester. I have had the RAC out to it since and its defo the Pump on the righthand side if looking at it from the front of the bonnet.

The RAC guy checked all the other common faults, the Heater etc and 2 brown wires under the steering wheel but they checked out.

This pump was replaced only 3 to 4 months ago with a reconditioned one and fitted by a garage in Denton too. As far as i know it is still under warranty.
