Ive got a mk1 saxo vtr. Got the s1 rallye inlet with the engine (also 90bhp engine). Engines been fitted and was fitting the inlet today. We got it running but it just wouldnt idle. It was all running in my mates car. So the right places where blocked off etc..

Was just wondering if someone had a picture/could tell me what connects to where. As thats what through us. As theres alot more things on the vtr inlet.

Thanks.

When you say its not idleing, how do you mean?
Is it idleing, but at 2000rpm or something daft? If so, some cars actually require a remap anyway. Some cars take to them fine.

Sounds odd, but its all down to luck.
That is, if you've done it all correctly in the first place ;)

I mean it just doesnt idle lol. Revs just die and it stalls/cuts out whatever.

Thats why i think we missed a connector somewhere or done somehtink wrong. Just cant pin point what exactly n how to get it right.

I'd say your best bet is this, get loads of decent pics of it, and ask on the Rallye Reg.
Loads of people have fitted these to various engines, and they're deffo the best place to ask. :)

Have you got any pics of yours mate? Ive been fitting mine todayand working out where the sensors all go etc and the pipe from the inlet to brake servo...I dont know where it al go's...

Could u show me pics of where it all go' please?
I need to know where two of the sensors from the old inlet go,
Where the pipe from inlet to brake servo goes,
and what to do as my plugs on my loom dont fit into the sockets on the rallye TB..

HELP :(:( lol

wish i could mate. I had exactly same problem as you. Had to stick standard back on for time being as couldnt get it to idle at all. And now my standard one idles funny so gotta try n find a place that knows how to or someone.

If i find a pic or find out how ill let you know mate. Vise versa aswell :y:

Oh i see mate.

Well there is a sensor on the old (standard) inlet which is by the hose which comes off the inlet and goes to the induction kit/airbox also there is another sensor bolted on with one bolt to the inlet.. - I dont know what to do with these as there is no where to put them on the rallye inlet..

Also my plug from my loom are different and wont connet in the sockets on the rallye TB.

Regarding ur bad idle with the standard one back on, you probably havent sealed it properly or have you? (Common problem not sealing the inlet properly..where it bolts to the head..) Or have u got any dodgy wires which have been cut and not crimped together properly?

Think its the wiring mate. As we cut some wires to make them reach the thing on the s1 inlet. And to get them to kind of fit as connecters didnt match up.

p.s how can you tell if its not been sealed right?

ok mate..

If its not sealed right it will prob not start up too well and will run lumpy and with a bad idle, may even cut out now and then. Just whack lots of gasket sealant around the edge of the inlet but make sure it doesnt go in the ports!

Any further on it yet mate?

Think ive fudged my wiring...
It starts and runs, but when u rev it past 3K it just wants to die, as if there is no air or fuel getting through...:S
Does this with or without the throttle potentiometer on it...maybe its broken?

Wiring and piping etc needs tidying, does run but not properly...will all be tidy when running correct :y:
