replacing swing arms ?

just found out that i need two new swing arms :( fortuanately a local broker has just broke an 02 plate 106 gti so ive got the arms form that..
how do you check if they are fine tho ?

also wanting to fit them myself just so i know how to do it, is it a big job ?? looks like just a few bolts to me :)
