Was sunday afternoon, i thought me and my mate could start running the wiring through the car for install, popped the bonnet open to look for the hole where i could run the power cable down and came across this.

Im just interested in what it could of been, at first i joked about how it could of been NOS but im thinking that it could of actually been that. Any ideas of what else it could of been? Cheers

It is an ecotec widget. Get rid of it! Either that or take out the filter (pointy bit) and stick a bolt in there.

It looks like a three-way splitter used to tap in to a pipeline.
Apparently the red thing coming from the bottom seems to be a pipe which was cut and the end melted to seal it up.

it might jsut be a t-peice for a vacume guage

It seems to be directly above the grommet that goes through the bulkhead so I would expect whatever it was, was connected to something in the inside of the car. As such, a vacume guage may not be unreasonable.
